The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Humanity United have launched a new challenge at InnoCentive to identify and spotlight intentional and unintentional enablers of mass atrocities.
This unique challenge seeks to identify those perpetrators of mass atrocities who are complicit in the financing, arming, coordination, or logistical support of mass atrocities. They can multinational corporations, financial institutions and others whose work may (intentionally or unintentionally) support the perpetrators of the conflict. Since these individuals and organizations are removed from the violence, they may even be unaware of the consequences of their actions. Potential enablers can be anywhere, and there are few tools to systematically identify, analyze, or monitor enablers.
This challenge seeks to know: What tool, technology, or practice would help better identify and spotlight third-party enablers of mass atrocities?
This is an Ideation Challenge, which has the following unique features:
- There is a guaranteed award. The awards will be paid to the best submission(s) as solely determined by the Seeker. The total payout will be $10,000, with at least one award being no smaller than $5,000 and no award being smaller than $1,000.
