Switzerland’s support is an expression of solidarity with new EU member states, and puts the ground work for stable economic and political connections with these countries.
Creation of the Swiss-Polish Co-operation Programme is aimed at reducing economic and social disparities between Poland and the more developed EU member states, disparities in Poland – between dynamically developing urban centres, and poorly structurally developed regions through creating partnerships between Polish and Swiss local and regional authorities or institutions and social partners.
At the basis of the approach that accents the role of partnership communities, lies the belief that only co-operation between all the countries, based on engagement and friendship of their inhabitants, can lead to breaking down the barriers between the nations.
The basic aim of the Fund for Non-governmental Organisations is to support of civil society development in Poland, which lies with the citizens – aware of their rights and obligations, engaged for the common purpose and responsible not only for themselves, but also for the community with which they are connected through the place of residence.
