Europe Aid is inviting proposals for ‘Forestry Actions in Lebanon’ grant project 2014. The major aim of the grant program is to promote actions aiming at fostering forestation and reforestation activities in Lebanon in line with the goals of the 40 million trees program.
Action project can be forestation or reforestation activities on state-owned communal land with sufficient availability of water for irrigation and protection from fire and grazing. Total available amount under ‘Forestry Actions in Lebanon’ grant program is €1,000,000 and the action project must be from 36 to 42 months long. Besides this, the grant recipient will be responsible for organizing and implementing activities that aim to provide capacity building to municipalities.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant must be non-profit making legal person and a non-state actor registerd for at least three years at the time of the submission of the application.
- Applicant must be established in a member state of the EU or Lebanon, directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Applicant must have experience of managing projects on forestery, local and regional development, territorial planning, land use, agriculture and rural development, environmental management and protection, forest governance and participation, and civil society and social development and inclusion in Lebanon and/or in the Middle East/North Africa region.
