Europe Aid is inviting concept notes and full applications for the support ‘Media for All-Investigative Journalism in Kosovo’. The major objective of the program is to promote freedom of expression and independent media as a pillar for the development of a democratic society in Kosovo. To achieve the objective, projects under the call should aim to increase the quality of print and broadcast media in Kosovo through the development of independent, investigative and publicly beneficial journalism.
Grants can be requested for maximum EUR 603,000 which can be 75-95% of the total eligible cost of the action.
Types of Activities –
- Needs assessment (considering also the specific needs of minority media)
- Skills development in investigative journalism, TV and radio production, media monitoring, journalistic ethics, etc.
- On the job training
- Production of radio and TV content
- Liaison and coordination with media players in Kosovo and beyond
- Promotion, advocacy and awareness raising activity
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicants must be legal persons in specific types of organizations such as – non-governmental organizations, public or private media operators, local authorities, international (inter-governmental) organizations as defined by Article 43 of the Implementing Rules to the EC Financial Regulation.
- Applicants must be established in a Member State of the European Union and Member States of the European Economic Area (i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), or a country under the IPA regulation.
- Applicants must be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Applicants must be an organization or in a consortium of organizations with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in training and capacity building in the field of media or be an organization or business working in the field of media (print media, radio, TV, online, etc.).
