School of Engineering and Digital Arts is pleased to invite applicants for Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) 2013 funding allocated for Postgraduate and PhD Students in the field of Arts and Humanities at University of Kent in UK.
The AHRC is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, along with the other UK Research Councils. The AHRC is governed by its Council, which is responsible for its overall strategic direction, and are incorporated by Royal Charter.
Objectives–
- To promote and support the production of world-class research in the arts and humanities.
- To promote and support world-class postgraduate training designed to equip graduates for research or other professional careers.
- To strengthen the impact of arts and humanities research by encouraging researchers to disseminate and transfer knowledge to other contexts where it makes a difference.
- To raise the profile of arts and humanities research and to be an effective advocate for its social, cultural and economic significance.
Eligibility: –
- Have received an offer of a place to study at the University of Kent.
- Have achieved a first class undergraduate degree.
- Prepare a statement of research interests and ambitions. These should be discussed with the Director of Graduate Studies.
- Provide a piece of written work of between 1,500 – 2,500 words.
- Supply two academic references. These should be as specific and as detailed as possible so candidates should ask their referees to provide as much information about their academic achievements at BA level which includes details of their relative position within their cohort and details of their performance on individual courses/modules.
