European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is inviting Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) Proposals. The Proposals can be on one of the following thematic areas –
- Innovation for healthy living and active ageing; and
- Raw materials: sustainable exploration, extraction, processing, recycling and substitution
EIT may provide a grant award of EUR 2 to 4 million to selected applicant which can be spent in the following activities – establishment of legal structures, including the set-up of the KIC Legal Entity; recruitment and appointment of a CEO and other core staff; coordination and signature of the internal agreements formalizing the engagement of partner organizations; preparation of the first KIC Business Plan.
Eligibility Criteria –
- The proposed KIC must contain at least three independent partner organizations established in at least three different Member States;
- At least two thirds of the partner organizations forming the proposed KIC are established in Member States;
- The proposed KIC includes at least one higher education institution and one private company.
