India, being a developing country has shown a splendid growth so far. Though the developing rate is excellent, India is still facing challenges in areas of economic empowerment, livelihood, sanitation, poverty and a lot more that are depriving its growth.
While grant support from abroad is declining at a faster rate, there is also a strong trend of new funding opportunities emerging locally in India. Many NGOs in India are working with their full potential in order to bring development and long lasting changes in India. Examples include:
- The Patan Devi Foundation (Trust) that is committed to achieving lasting change that transforms people’s lives.
- Sir Ratam Tata Trust & Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust that provides institutional support to fledgling development initiatives, including direct support to community based organisations
- The Dalit Foundation is working for the empowerment of Dalit communities with an aim to build the capacity of its partners in order to execute effective grassroots level interventions.
