At previous years teachers have no direction to pass their voices or call for their rights as a result of no organization representing their needs, which has contributed greatly in affecting the development and economic out-put of the country negatively. With the help of this sample proposal we want to give helping hands to the teachers to support their life through the creation of minor projects that shall equip them with economic prosperity and promote their individual welfare. The goal of the project is to improve the livelihood for all teachers with the overall objective to unite teachers and keep them out of current dangers of poverty situation, breaking the chain of vulnerability and having good working and conducive environment to enable them obtain a successfully/desirable life so as to support the National economic. The specific objective of the project includes to form National executive members and council of teachers Union and to raise the capacity building and voice of teachers in the union and their respective states.
Organization Background
South Sudan in general has received its independent on July 2011, and before that time it was operating under autonomy Government system in which many of civil society’s organization including national Teachers Union were not formed because the regulations that can constitute their structure are still progressing in National legislative assembly. Up to the year YYYY the group of teachers started the formation process which has been accepted by Government and allow them to continue with their mandate but this initiative couldn’t work successfully as a result of 2013 crises, then teachers stay without union representing their interest at National level. In year 2017, the program has been renewed as the formation of national Teachers Union of South Sudan which is expecting to start from states up to national level by the way of forming branches offices responsible in sending their delegate members to come for National Teachers convention scheduled to take place within this year 2019 at Juba town with target number of participants estimated to be (99) Teachers across the country.
The program has been initiated by former (10) states Chairperson of Teachers Union in support from National education coalition (NEC) on 21st November 2017 in order to provide access, to advocacy and fully sensitization for the teachers to know their rights and contribute into the national interest in regards to the teacher’s basic services. In fact, South Sudan in general has been affected by the war and majority of its citizens including Teachers went to different countries, most of these teachers came back in addition to those who remain in the services, but they are lacking of official body to represent them in their basic rights and other livelihood programs. Consequently, the teachers planned to develop their own organ which will coordinate all their activities towards the common goal. To come up with this mechanism there should be the interim body to facilitate the activities and that is why we form the steering committee for this purpose, within the same time this committee was faced with financial shortage because teachers were not organised and they are unable to make any contribution without one body taking the lead of their activities. In this case teachers need to form the Union which can deal with all their needs independently, thus we are still looking for external support from good will partners to help us in this foundation with confident that our Union will be strong after and able to stand alone after the formation process.
Project Executive Summary
This project means the conference of National Teachers Union of South Sudan which is expecting to be conducted in Juba before the end of this year XXXX with the total number of (99) teachers across the country. The reason of calling this meeting is to form official National Teachers union for the Republic of south Sudan and branches offices at 32 states plus Abyei .Hence our union is in progress, we have no separate and independent resources which can help us to run any activity without asking for the external support because teachers right now have no link in regards to financial contribution, and that is why we are asking financial support in order to give energy of having our own organization which will be responsible to all teachers affairs. By getting this, it will be the starting point and make us able to continue through monthly fees the union is going to collect at monthly basis.
Problem Statement
Lack of National Teachers Union has devastating the potentiality of motivation, encouragement and livelihood programs for the teachers, in which by indirect caused the negative impact not only for teachers live but for the whole nation in term of low and reduction of quality Education for all. The teachers in this situation are straggling with life and they need the helping hand to support their life through the creation of minor projects that shall equip them with economic prosperity and promote their individual welfare. Objectives
The objectives of this union are as follows:
- To improve the living standard for the teachers in their respective levels
- To support the Educational policy in the Country
- To work for teachers’ rights and other basic needs
- To establish the cooperative societies
- To work with National Ministry of General Education in examination process
- To develop the cooperation with international organizations working in Education
- To facilitate the training
- To conduct the national Education conferences in collaboration with MOGE&I
- To participate in Regional and international educational conferences
- To conduct social and academic researches
Overall Objectives
To unite teachers and keep them out of current dangers of poverty situation, breaking the chain of vulnerability and having good working and conducive environment to enable them obtain a successfully/desirable life so as to support the National economic in South Sudan.
Project Specific Objectives
- To invite 67 participants from 32 states plus Abeyei .
- To form National executive members and council of teachers Union.
- To raise the capacity building of teachers in the union and their respective states.
- To raise the voice of teachers in the country.
- To create the minor projects of livelihood programs
Project Location
This project shall be implemented in Juba town /Jubek state of South Sudan within seven days that is to begin immediately during the time of receiving the fund, while the delegates shall be collected from their respective states by flight and being accommodated with full residential board for the period of three days in Juba city.
Sustainability
For the effective sustainability of the project, teachers Union will ensure that all teachers groups are sensitize on the importance of the project to their live in particular and the whole country in general. It is expected that the project will be sustained by initial active participation of teachers in the conference through teacher’s representatives. The office shall be formed and train to support the project after the completion of National teachers conference. It is difficult at the mean time to form this office simply due to the lack of official body for the teachers, However by the end of the convention, the sustainability is assured because the teachers across the country would be involved in organizational development by the way of monthly fees and contribution plus other investments programs .
Profile of the Project Site
All teachers across the country were been affected by the food shortage, economic problems, delaying of salaries low payment, but we decide to form teachers union in order to help them achieve their ultimate goal, it is also agreed by the members to form this body, because of the problem facing teachers in their work profession.
Direct Beneficiaries
The project is aiming at addressing teachers economic challenges and empowering them by the way of enabling 47, 000 teachers across the country to have one office represents their needs at National level as well the branches offices should be formed at all 32 states plus Abyei respectively. Teachers as direct beneficiaries may be able to access their basic and reliable services through this Union and other important activities to be added during the success of this project in order to promote their living standard and give them motivation in their life. Currently, teachers at country wide are as vulnerable before many dangers in the country due to a double influence as poverty and political situation, which caused the economic disaster in the Nation. Therefore as a result from the above we have intensified our current efforts and services delivery to the teachers who were been affected with psychosocial and economic factors, and we have got its importance to establish the teachers Union.

The project will also benefit more than 12,000,000 men and women country wide based on union product and support that may be encounter through the formation, Teachers through this body will participate in nation building by the way of using their resources in buying the food items for the teachers and sell them in low prices of which the community in general is going to benefit in term of market price reduction ,in other Hand teachers will be well motivated and having energy to work with faithful spirit which will make all learners at different schools to receive quality education by than the citizen are benefiting

Monitoring and Evaluation
This will be a continuous process throughout the project life. Monitoring activities will be conducted to ensure harmonious coordination of the project, its operation and proper implementation. This will bring out important information upon which decisions are sought and made. Field offices will be visit also and hold meeting with teacher’s general assembly on the process of the union, executive leaders may assess the impact of the union activities and share their experiences and challenges accordingly. Monitoring activities will be conducted on monthly basis. Evaluation will help the officers to assess the extent to which implementation is meeting the set objectives. It helps the Union team to review the implementation strategies in order to improve on the Union performance and better resource utilization. This will be an ongoing activity throughout the project and will be carried out on monthly basis. It will be carried out to access the programs implementation and will help to supervise the teacher’s affairs.
Impact Indicators
The proposal is designed to improve teacher’s way of life and create positive intervention in our programs areas. Teacher’s Union main office shall strategies its activities for all teachers, and on this venture, it will enable them to have access sustainability in regards to life skills and empowerment. It will Much focus on putting those with in and out drop schools teachers more closure to the target categories and into our sustainable aims It is going to increase the number of qualified teachers and make them participate fully in different parts in their teaching professions. The indication will appear in teachers life change in general and their participation in teaching and other program shall be seen physically.
Implementation Plan
The implementation plan for the formation of teachers union will start by sending the invitation letters to the states teachers representatives through their Education coordinators at Juba town before one week to the day of the convention, after the arrival of the delegates to the conference venue, the action is going to take off by the following morning after the day of participant arrival, the process will take place continuously for the period of three days consecutively. The agenda of the first day is the briefing and orientation the concept of teachers union and its mandates to the participants, followed by reviewing of teachers union draft constitution then approved by the conference in the second day, within the third day it is going to be the formation of election committee, election process for selection of the offices and concluded by the speeches from expected gusts, then the delegates will depart on the coming day four to their respective states.
