Integrated Agriculture for Community Development

The poor, uneducated, frustrated, war victimized and traumatized youths, children and other vulnerable persons will have their standards of life improved, and live-in conducive environments with highly nationally and internationally recognized dignity is the vision of the project with the mission to make youths get involved in economic activities, conduct trainings and create awareness about the dangers of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and other killer diseases, life skills activities, help the poor, needy children and other handicap people. The major goals of the project are to improve the standards of living of the youths; Agricultural markets widen, and its output increased; Poverty level shall reduce and literacy levels shall increase; Girl child education will be promoted, and teenage pregnancy reduced and life expectancy of the youths, children and handicap will increase, due to reduced death rates arising from HIV/AIDS and other killer diseases.

XXXXXXXX is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) in Omoro District with Seventeen Members, effective on the 18^th Day of December 2018, working in all the Sub Counties and Town Councils in Omoro District, with brilliant visions driven towards uplifting the youths, orphans, vulnerable persons and the poor.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Omoro District is in Northern Uganda, where poverty level is at 32% with most populace being farmers, who experienced low agricultural yields over years due to poor techniques and land wrangles, the youths are jobless, poverty stricken, frustrated and highly diseased with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B, Teenage pregnancy stands at 28%, 73.9% of children not in schools, 10.9 % of children orphaned, 26.4 % of total households headed by female, 65.2 % have no access to electricity, massive suicide arising from domestic violence and poverty, with huge negative physical, emotional and psychological impacts of the post Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) war in the area that lasted for over 20 years.

VISION

MISSION

XXXXXX is committed to tirelessly work very hard to promote Agriculture as the back bone of Uganda, make youths get involved in economic activities, conduct trainings and create awareness about the dangers of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and other killer diseases, life skills activities, help the poor, needy children and other handicap people in Omoro District.

MAJOR ACHIEVABLE GOALS

- Goal 1: The standards of living of the youths in Omoro District will improve, due to increased literacy and income levels.
- Goal 2: Agricultural markets widen, and its output increased.
- Goal 3: Poverty level shall reduce and literacy levels shall increase in Omoro District.
- Goal 4: Gender based violence and other forms of violence, number of orphans and handicap will reduce in the district.
- Goal 5: Girl child education will be promoted, and teenage pregnancy reduced.
- Goal 6: life expectancy of the youths, children and handicap will increase, due to reduced death rates arising from HIV/AIDS and other killer diseases.

EXPECTED OUTCOME & BENEFITS

The impacts and benefits shall be on 182,400 people,40% of the youths in each of the Sub Counties and Town Councils will be removed from living below the poverty line, the youths and the community will acquire money, take their children to schools. Good healthcare promoted, Agricultural output increment realized, leading to stable food security since commercial farming shall be emphasized. Youths and farmers will acquire better skills and knowledge, needed for them to improve on their Agricultural productions, there shall be unity amongst people, to bring about peace, harmony and restored glory of the people after the LRA war in the area.

APPROACH ON THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The project management shall be steered by all the members and other stakeholders, championed by the management team and other members of the executive committee, for it to effectively be consumed by the beneficiaries

- Capital and Resources
  - The land for the establishment of the projects is readily available, and the members shall provide human capital, labor, and avail the wanting materials, care, duty and support required for the project to meet the desired goals.
- Project Planning:
  - All the members convened a meeting and participated in the planning, basing on the local experiences of life in the community. The planning shall be done in November 2019, to ascertain the resources, budgets, and other activities, and have them compiled and forwarded for support.
- The Implementation of the Project:
  - Any member who has been assigned tasks for any project shall implement the same, and grossly be accountable for their successful, effective and efficient running according to the drawn plans.
- Monitoring the projects:
  - There shall be weekly Project Team Management Meetings on Saturdays, to ascertain the areas of strength, weaknesses, progress and the necessary solutions to some loopholes on the projects.
- Evaluation of the projects:
  - There shall be monthly general meetings to evaluate the solutions, achievements, output and other impacts, on the projects.
- Project reporting:
  - Weekly, monthly and quarterly reports shall be made on the failures, successes and achievements, and have them forwarded to the supporters according to the requirements.
- Sustainability:
  - Through meetings, trainings, activities, monitoring and evaluation, Management Capacity Building, relevancies from stakeholders among other strengthened operations, confidence is then created to make sure that the projects are sustainable, to be continued to run and manage themselves up to the next five years.
