Children grow up in a much complex and difficult world today. And because of their trait of curiosity, they tend to explore anything that seems to be new and attractive to them. As a result, unknowingly, these innocent children fall into certain habits and impulses that are not congenial to their health in general. Probably there’s no other addiction that is as harmful as smoking. The ill-effects of smoking are so many that any other addictions would fall short. Smoking harms not only the smoker but also the ones who live in and around him.
The harms done to the environment are supplementary. The program’s objectives are to help children know and understand the dangers of smoking and the harmful effects of smoking on their bodies. During the health education process, the children will be provided with the knowledge and information necessary about smoking. They will also be equipped with the social skills that enable them to resist the pressure to smoke, either from their peer group or society in general. At the end of the program, they will promote a healthy, smoke-free environment in communities and factories.

Rationale
Children grow up in a much complex and difficult world today. And because of their trait of curiosity they tend to explore anything that seems to be new and attractive to them. As a result, unknowingly these innocent children fall into certain habits and impulses those are not congenial to their health in general. This is the reason why juvenile delinquencies are increasing at a rapid rate in the present day. Today everything that was earlier not meant for the children are quite easily available. Children are also very much open to vices like pornography which is now just a few clicks away. They are open to all forms of addictions too. Though there are rules that bar the children from getting addicted to addictions still there are ways through which children can access these addictions.
Particularly children are quite vulnerable to the addiction of smoking in both the developed as well as the under developed nations. There are various reasons behind their attraction for the fag. Firstly, cigarette is comparatively cheaper than other available addictions, secondly it is easy to procure, and thirdly cigarettes are easy to hide. One can be discreet about smoking.
Probably there’s no other addiction that is as harmful as smoking. The ill effects of smoking are so many that any other addictions would fall short. Smoking not only harms the smoker but also the ones who live in and around him. The harms done to the environment are supplementary. But the thing with children is that they hide the fact that they smoke from their parents. And it’s only natural! Children are innocent no doubt but they are aware of the fact that a secret fag is not to be shared with the parents.
