Are you interested in an environmental conservation project? We have this project for you. The limitation of forest resources is among the main challenges to be overcome in the country. Either we learn to recover and preserve our forest resources, or we will have serious problems already in the present and, mainly, in the future with the increasing scarcity of other resources in the chain, mainly of water, food, nutrients. The lack of resources to obtain firewood or charcoal from the interior of the country to be sold in the city can cause the cutting and use of the few trees that still resist in the lower parts. The removal of these trees is also due to the need to use them for setting up small shacks, which serve as business points, but also as housing. For the execution of the urban afforestation work, a working group formed by (four) people will be selected to raise awareness among residents, choice of locations, acceptance of residents, before the seedlings are destined for permanent cultivation.
Introduction
The limitation of forest resources is among the main challenges to be overcome in the country. Either we learn to recover and preserve our forest resources, or we will have serious problems already in the present and, mainly, in the future with the increasing scarcity of other resources in chain, mainly of water, food, nutrients.
Deforestation has reached 98% of the territory in the past 50 years. This confirms that important parcels of organic matter are being carried into the sea. In addition to organic material, nutrients and mineral salts in the soil will have the same fate, further affecting soil quality on the one hand and on the other hand will scare fish species to more distant areas on the coast, making fishing more difficult, another important food source for urban dwellers.
The populations of the interior of the country will continue to move to urban centers in search of work, if they do not find work where they currently live. With this, in addition to the loss of already degraded soils, the culture of caring for the land will be lost by those who have lived and worked on the land the longest.
Community participation, from the beginning of decisions to implementation, in addition to a right and a duty, and a prerequisite for joining the solution, a way of approaching the local reality and a means of reducing costs by incorporating potential resources. The level of community participation in a problem-solving process depends on the degree of community mobilization. Most of the communities where cultivation systems will be implemented, there is an express manifestation when they need their participation in the solution of problems in the recovery of degraded areas, and in urban areas there is a lot of interest in permanent occupation and a very high degree of awareness for this activity.
The reuse of nutrients in both the effluent and the biosolids of domestic sewage treatment plants for the activities of the agricultural and aquaculture production chain, as well as the organic materials disposed by residents of urban areas, is configured as an additional source of income, nutrients and proteins, as well as an alternative for saving and caring for water and for cleaning up water resources both on land and at sea.
Given this scenario, Environmental Education, especially due to its multiplying nature, is seen as a fundamental tool for raising awareness and encouraging sustainable attitudes. In this sense and still aiming at the sustainability of the environmental reforestation enterprises, the environmental education work proposes to work with the residents contemplated by the reforestation systems.
