Across low- and middle-income countries, youth face numerous economic and social challenges, including high unemployment rates, limited access to quality education, and scarce economic opportunities. Many young people are increasingly drawn to entrepreneurship as a pathway to self-reliance, job creation, and social change. However, traditional entrepreneurship models often require significant capital and access to physical infrastructure, which many youths lack.
In recent years, digital platforms have opened up new opportunities for youth entrepreneurship. From online marketplaces to social media-driven businesses, digital tools offer young people a chance to launch businesses with minimal startup costs. However, many youths in underserved communities do not have the skills, knowledge, or support systems to harness the power of digital tools for entrepreneurial success.
Digital entrepreneurship holds tremendous potential to not only provide economic opportunities for young people but also address social challenges such as poverty, inequality, and environmental sustainability. Youth-led businesses, particularly in digital spaces, can create jobs, generate income, and drive innovative solutions to pressing societal problems. With targeted support, digital entrepreneurship can serve as a catalyst for social impact, enabling young people to tackle issues in their communities while achieving economic independence.
This project proposes to empower youth by providing them with the skills, mentorship, and resources needed to launch and grow socially impactful digital businesses.
