The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) in partnership with the the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has issued the call for proposals for systematic reviews to strengthen the international community’s capacity for evidence-based policy making.
3ie seeks to improve the lives of poor people in low- and middle-income countries by providing, and summarizing evidence on what programmes work and for how much, the circumstances under which they work and the mechanisms by which outcomes are achieved.
Existing research in international development is often not fully utilised. Systematic reviews are an important way of facilitating more widespread use of existing evidence to inform policy and practice. 3ie is announcing a call for proposals for systematic reviews to increase the international community’s use of evidence in policy making. This is the fifth call for proposals under 3ie’s reviews programme.
3ie encourages proposals and research teams from low- or middle-income countries (defined as LMIC nationals resident in that country), and proposals including such researchers in the study team. 3ie strongly encourages applicants to bring in partners from other organisations to complete their teams.
Grant applications are accepted through 3ie’s online grant application system until 31 August, 2012, 11.59 am Eastern Standard Time (EST).
