Deadline-24th April, 2012
The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is providing the funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. According to the DOE, both programs allow federal agencies with large research and development efforts to budget a small portion for competitions between small businesses. The funding will be available for small businesses applying for eight broad topics, including biomass, advanced manufacturing, water power technologies, and others.
And through the Biomass Research and Development Initiative (BRDI), applicants can apply for funding provided by the USDA and DOE for projects that match one of three areas: feedstock development, biofuels and biobased products development, or biofuels development analysis. The BRDI is offering roughly $35 million in total funding over a three-year span. Those interested in applying for the feedstock development option, must engage in improving biomass supply, harvest, transport, preprocessing or storage of that biomass.
