Canada-U.S. Fulbright Visiting Research Chairs enable capable and prominent Canadian scholars, as well as experienced professionals to conduct research, develop collaborations, guest lecture and/or teach at selected American universities and research centers, normally for one semester, though this may be extended to a full academic year.
Fulbright Canada possess expansive network of relationships; specifically, with grantees, alumni, teachers, senior professionals, government representatives, university administrators, community leaders and private sector partners. The Foundation organizes and participates in a large number and a wide variety of professional, educational, and general networking activities.
Fulbright Canada grantees and alumni are involved in numerous activities on their campuses, at their workplaces, and in their communities. Fulbright Canada promotes and encourages these activities, which include various community action programs. Specifically, these programs include Orientation, the Fulbright Canada – RBC Eco-Leadership Program, and our new Community Leadership Program. Fulbright Canada Board members, as well as senior management, are also involved in a number of activities aimed at advancing the interests of the Foundation and all of our programs. In addition, the Foundation organizes and/or participates in a wide variety of conferences, public lectures, and other outreach activities.
In addition to this, successful candidates will have the opportunity to deliver public lectures, give seminar presentations, participate in conferences and otherwise contribute to ongoing research activities at the host institution. Applicants must have received a Ph.D. or equivalent professional/terminal degree by December 31, 2012 or have equivalent professional experience.
