The CUD (Cutting-edge International Trainings and Courses for Development) Scholarship Programme for the year 2010-2011 offers support to undertake international courses and trainings such as the European Masters in Microfinance, Master in Public Health – Guidance Health and Development, Master in International Economics and Development, Master in Development, Environment and Societies, Master in Public Health Methodology etc and courses like Internship in Management Systems Health Services – economics and resource management / planning in Belgium-based institutions. Some of these courses and trainings are in French and candidates should be familiar with the language before applying for them. Nevertheless, selected candidates also need to learn French while participating in the programme. Only applicants from developing countries can apply for the programme. Countries that have been listed are: South Africa, Algeria, Bangladesh, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, China, Colombia, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Guinea, Haïti, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Niger, Uganda, Peru, Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, El Salvador, Senegal, Suriname, Tanzania, Palestinian territories, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Age-limit for participating in the programme is 40 years for the courses and 45 years for trainings. Eligible candidates will be those holding a graduate degree comparable to Belgian University graduate degree (“license”). After completion of the programme, selected candidates should return back to their country and pursue work in the field in which they have undergone the course or training.
