Is your NGO implementing a sustainable energy project that works with communities on fuel-efficient stoves, micro-hydel plants, biogas plants, solar energy systems and water pumps? The approaches could be income generation to the local people, provision of employment, extending electricity to a school or ensuring women’s empowerment through ownership and control over local resources. The Ashden Awards for Sustainability is looking out for such innovative projects in developing countries. Selected projects/NGOs will awards (there are up to seven awards for an amount of £20,000 and one main Energy Champion Award for £40,000). There are other international benefits too.
