There are two main categories in the Scheme, namely, New Zealand Development Scholarships – Public Category (NZDS-Public) and New Zealand Development Scholarships – Open Category (NZDS-Open). NZDS-Public, as a bilateral scheme, is available for individuals in selected partner countries of Southeast Asia and Pacific. Applicants can be from the private sector as well as the civil society depending upon the country’s human resource development training needs. The non-bilateral NZDS-Open is open some developing countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific and individuals from civil society and the private sector can apply for it. The last date for submitting applications depends upon the University’s deadline for receiving applications. The University deadlines begin from May 2009.
