The Government of Brunei Darussalam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is accepting scholarship applications from international candidates willing to pursue first degree with honors, diploma of health sciences, masters or doctoral degree at one of the following institutes in Brunei Darussalam – Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB).
The scholarship covers tuition fees and other appropriate compulsory fees, air ticket, monthly allowance of BND500.00, monthly food allowance of BND150.00, annual book allowance of BND600.00. Upon completion of the program, scholars from ASEAN region will receive baggage allowance up to BND250.00 and scholars outside ASEAN countries will receive up to BND500.00.
Time period: Scholar should maintain an active registration and academic status, and should not be placed on probation status otherwise the scholarship award will be terminated and revoked. The scholarship is available to study at UDB, UNISSA and ITB on full-time basis as below depending on the academic performance of the recipient –
- First degree with honors – 4 years
- Master’s degree – 1 to 2 years
- Doctoral degree – 3 years
- Diploma of Health Sciences at UDB – 3 years
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant can be the citizen of ASEAN, OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation), Commonwealth and ADC (member country or other including bilateral reciprocal cooperation.
- For undergraduate programs, applicants should be 18-25 years of age and for postgraduate programs, applicants can be at most 35 years of age as of 31 July 2015.
- Brunei permanent residents and foreigners residing in Brunei Darussalam are not eligible to apply for the award.
Complete application materials include – completed application form, certified copies of relevant certificates and documents.
Submit three (3) copies of the application form and three (3) copies of the supporting documents to Technical Assistant Division or the Brunei Mission in the applicant’s country of origin or the closest Brunei Darussalam Mission to the country of origin.
