Organization of American States (OAS) Scholarship is now open for Undergraduate Academic Studies in any of the OAS Member State to begin studies between January 2015 and March 2016. Students attempting undergraduate education from any of the English and Dutch speaking Caribbean Member States (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Suriname, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago) can apply for the scholarship program by submitting applications through their corresponding National Liaison Office. The major purpose of OAS Scholarship is to support the efforts of OAS Member States in the development of human resources as a means to achieving the objectives of the OAS Strategic Plan for Integral Development.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident from an English and Dutch-Speaking Caribbean Member States.
- Applicant must have completed the first two years of the Undergraduate degree, or have an Associate’s degree.
- Applicant must maintain GPA above the minimum standard requirement by the university.
- Applicant must be in good physical and mental health to successfully complete the program of study.
The applicant must submit online application attaching her/his copy of the Associate’s diploma (For those candidates already enrolled in the bachelor’s program, copy of the high school diploma); Copy of the Associate’s degree transcripts (or those candidates already enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree program, latest transcripts from the current program of study); three recommendation letters – 2 different from current or former professors and 1 from a current or previous employer (if the candidate is unemployed or never employed, she/he should obtain third recommendation from a professor who can detail applicant’s qualification as a student or professional); resume and admission letter.
