University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD) is offering opportunity for Brunei applicant to pursue 2013 PhD Scholarships in Asian Studies in Brunei.
Eligible applicants are invited to submit their applications for the 10 PhD scholarships in Critical Asian Studies under the new Graduate Research Scholarship (GRS) Programme.
UBD is located in the world’s 3rd largest island, Borneo. Its strategic location along one of the world’s busiest sea lanes in the South China Sea, conducive socio-cultural environment, an ecologically friendly and beautiful campus and a growing pool of international experts on Asian affairs make it an excellent place to pursue intensive research work in Asia.
Areas of Research Concentration-
Borneo Studies, South China Sea Studies, Popular Culture, Economic and Financial Integration in Asia, and Human/Capital Movements in Asia.
Other benefits-
The Graduate Research Scholarship includes a monthly allowance of B$1,500 (Maximum period of 3 years for PhD programme); passage to Brunei Darussalam from and back to home country; a one-time payment for allowances for field research of B$3,000.00; tuition fee waiver.
Eligibility-
The scholarships are open for candidates on a competitive basis. To be eligible a candidate must be under the age of 40, enrolled full-time in the PhD programme and demonstrate a good academic track record.
