The School of European Culture and Languages (SECL), University of Kent, is accepting applications for a postgraduate scholarship for the year 2014/15. The main purpose of the scholarship is to support UK, EU and overseas fee-paying students, by waivering off academic expenses and concentrate on research or the taught course program. Deadline and eligibility criteria for scholarship application vary with the courses – MA, PhD or Language Lector Scholarship opportunity the student is applying for. Deadline for PhD Scholarship application is 31 January 2014.
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Scholarship –
The applicant must –
- Hold a good honors degree (First or 2.1) or a Master’s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent.
- Hold an offer of a place on a full-time doctoral research degree in the School of European Culture and Languages for the academic year commencing September 2014.
- Have a high-quality research proposal.
- Have excellent communication skills – written and oral, suited to undergraduate teaching.
