University of Sydney is pleased to invite applications for Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships Program. The goal of this program is to encourage education and research in subjects relevant to the particular needs of the then territory of Papua.

- Master of Agriculture
- Master of Public Health
- Master of International Public Health
- Master of Education or Master of Social Work
Benefits-
- Tuition fees paid for the CRICOS registered duration of a recipient’s program of study, for one of the above programs offered at the University of Sydney (subject to the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress each semester)
- Living allowance (amount of 2014 allowance TBA; AUD$24,653 in 2013)
- One return airfare (for student only) between Port Moresby and Sydney
- Overseas Student Health Cover (for student only)
- Student Amenities Fee 2014
- Visa application fee (for student only)
- Advanced Skills for Academic Success Program (ASAS) (compulsory three week program commencing 30 January 2014)
- Book allowance (AUD$350 per semester for two semesters)
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Only citizens from Papua New Guinea can apply
- Applicants must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree qualification with outstanding results based on the Australian grading system, as deemed by the University of Sydney. Students who have already commenced postgraduate studies, or students transferring with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing, are not eligible
