Center for enhanced learning and teaching (CELT) is currently inviting proposals from faculty and teaching staff for its Teaching Development Grant (TDG) to propose projects that aim at delivering original and innovative teaching ideas related to experiential learning and other teaching development that enhances teaching and learning.

Key Assessment Criteria
- Outcome-based: Embeds the design and delivery of outcome-based teaching and learning
- Evidence-based: Provides a clear and systematic evaluation plan to demonstrate evidence of attainment of project objectives, which may include generic and subject specific baseline measurements for pre- and post-implementation comparison
- Wide applicability: Impacts a large number of students with potential continuation in other courses and programs
- Feasibility: Provides a realistic scope for the deliverables, budget, resources, time frame and milestones
- Collaboration: Involves collaboration with peers within and across Departments and Schools
Eligibility Criteria
- Innovative teaching development projects that foster experiential learning are particularly welcome for this call for proposals.
- Faculty who wish to enhance the teaching and learning experience can get involved in pioneering innovative teaching development projects. Depending on the size and nature of a project, it is either funded through the Hong Kong University Grants Committee’s Teaching Development Grant, or supported by CELT’s existing resources.
- Laboratory equipment and permanent equipment for Schools/Departments, such as computers will not be funded.
Application Process
- Download the teaching development project proposal template (.doc and .pdf). It will guide you to complete your proposal with the key information needed.
- The proposals for teaching development project must be submitted via email.
- After receiving the preliminary proposal, CELT staff will contact you to discuss your project ideas; and only those final proposals that includes mutually agreed refinements would be accepted.
