The European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute is organising the fourth edition of its Social Innovation Tournament. Individuals or teams from (or residing in) the European Union Member States, Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries or the EFTA countries are invited to submit proposals to be implemented in one or more of these countries.
The Social Innovation Tournament is the flagship initiative of the EIB Institute’s Social Program organised every year in a different country to reward and sponsor European entrepreneurs whose primary purpose is to generate a social, ethical or environmental impact. It seeks to promote the generation of innovative ideas and rewards initiatives that fight against social exclusion.
The Final Event will be held in Milan, Italy, on 24 September 2015.

Prizes
- All projects compete for a General Category 1st and 2nd Prize of EUR 25 000 and EUR 10 000 respectively.
- Projects addressing the topic of equal opportunities with a special emphasis on people with disabilities will also compete for the Special Category Prize of EUR 25 000.

Past Award Winners
- Adie (France, First Prize), an initiative that aims to launch social micro franchise networks designed to offer turnkey business models to low-income entrepreneurs.
- School4All (Hungary, Second Prize) organises and creates opportunities for the inclusion of physically or mentally disabled children in public schools.
- Blue Badge Style (UK, Special Environment Prize), a style website and app for disabled people that allows users to explore travel options, restaurants, theatres and retailers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be not-for-profit and for-profit organisations, young entrepreneurs and social enterprises, corporate responsibility departments of private sector companies of any size, NGOs, government or local government entities and university communities.
- Applicants must be from (or residing in) the European Union Member States, Candidate and Potential Candidate countries, and the EFTA countries.
- Entries from high school teams are also welcome.
