Deadline: Applications are open all round the year
The Global Innovations Fund call for proposals for developmental challenge solutions. GIF welcomes applicants to propose innovative, cost-effective solutions that address any major development challenge in any country (or in multiple countries) in the developing world.
Grant Highlights
- Flexible range of financing options- GIF offers grants, loans (including convertible debt), and equity investments ranging from GB £30,000 to £10 million.
- Access to a global network- The innovators gain access to GIF’s growing network of innovators, experts, and funders around the world.
- Venture and technical assistance– GIF can help to connect innovators with assistance based on their needs.
- Bridge to follow-on funding– GIF helps to connect our innovators to other donors and investors.
Grant focus: Innovation
- GIF defines ‘innovation’ broadly. It is any solution that has potential improves the lives of the poor in developing countries more effectively than existing approaches.
- GIF support innovations that include new business models, operational or production processes, policy practices, behavioral insights, or ways of delivering products and services that benefit the poor.
Eligibility Criteria
Anyone may apply for the GIF grants from any country of the world:
- Individuals
- Non-profit organisations
- For-profit companies
- Government organisations
- Universities
A consortium of organisations can also apply. In such cases, the lead organization that will be responsible for managing funds from GIF should apply.
Application process
All application materials should be submitted to GIF via the web application portal.
