The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in collaboration with Broad Agency Announcement(BAA) is seeking expression of interest (EOIS) for opportunities to collaborate on applied research and development focused on finding ways to support, sustain, and measure locally-owned and -led development.
USAID intends to find ways to strengthen networks of local actors, increase access to domestic resources, map local networks, understand constituent perspectives, monitor complex social changes, measure (and track shifts in) social capital, and facilitate multi-stakeholder processes.
Award Information
The total amount of funds available as authorized by the legislation is $45 million in FY 15 for local works, most of which will be transferred to 3-5 USAID field missions which will carry out activities in accordance with their own specific localworks strategies.
Goal
The program’s goal is to increase the capacities of local networks and access to local resources by providing them with relevant knowledge and skills so that they can stand up and carry out their activities without international donor support.

Eligibility Organizations
Public, private, for-profit, and non-profit organizations, as well as institutions of higher education, public international organizations, and non-governmental organizations are generally eligible to submit their expressions of interest.
