The e-ASIA Joint Research Program aims to develop a vibrant and collaborative research community in Science and Technology, to promote innovation in the East Asian region, and to contribute to the region’s economic development.
The collaborative research by joint funding of this program will provide the synergistic, supplemental and leveraged effects to reduce disaster risks and bring societal benefits by:
- developing scientific technologies for disaster preparedness
- exchanging expertise, knowledge and techniques
- deepen understanding of disaster risk
- creating ideas to apply useful information to disaster risk management
- establishing networks to distribute information
The potential research topics include:
- Disaster risk reduction by utilizing remote sensing/ICT technologies
- Risk analysis, assessment and visualization
- Impacts of hazards
- Multi-natural hazard observation/monitoring, modeling, forecasting and early warning systems
- Disaster risk reduction proofing systems for critical infrastructures
Countries & Regions: Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Russian Federation, Thailand, Viet Nam
Proposals must be submitted by e-mail to the e-ASIA JRP Secretariat. Applications shall be written in English.
