The MA and M Econ in Development Studies are offered at the Institute of Social Development (ISD) at UWC. The course is especially designed for those planning a career in the field of economic and social development. Those planning career in this field includes policy-makers, activists, administrators, developers, researchers or teachers at universities. The MA and M Econ in Development Studies start every year with the next intake in January 2013.
There are about 80 students from 15-20 different countries register either for the Honors or Masters programme in Development Studies on annual basis. Successful students of the Masters programme will be awarded the MA or M Econ in Development Studies of UWC. Excellent students can receive the MA in Development Management degree of Ruhr-University Bochum as a second degree if they fulfill additional requirements.
Applicants with an outstanding academic record (average upper second or first class grade) will have the opportunity to apply for a DRD scholarship for their studies .Moreover, participants will be given the opportunity to apply for a study period at Ruhr-Universiy Bochum in Germany, which can be supported through a mobility scholarship of the DRD.
