The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) invites students, scientists and developers around the globe to participate in GEO Appathon – the global App (application) development competition. The competition invites individuals, teams or entities with passion for unleashing the power of Earth Observations. The primary aim of the competition is to allow all the people an opportunity to make smarter decisions about the planet.
The GEO is a voluntary partnership of governments and international organizations which facilitates, coordinates and strengthens Earth observation data and information to enable better information and decisions to be made.

Eligibility Criteria
- Interested individuals, teams or entities can discover, research and apply any and all types of Earth observation data using the GEOSS (Global Earth Observation System of Systems)data portal and GEOs APIs (Application Programming Interface).
