EIFL (Electronic Information for Libraries) is accepting grant applications for public and community library projects. The projects that clearly define how the technology used will support the needs of children, and youth will be selected for the grant. Projects that explain about the services that improve literacy, encourage young people’s interest in technology, and support youth enterprise development, employment and careers, help young people improve their school results, promote gender equality in access to information and communication technologies, encourage girls and young women to pursue careers requiring computer programming and other advanced digital skills, encourage imagination and creativity, encourage civic engagement – that is, participation in local government and community decision-making processes or some other innovative and creative projects, will be awarded the grant.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant from Transition and Developing Countries are eligible to apply for the grant for public or community libraries.
- The project application must clearly describe the target group and the need of that target group in a viable and innovative way. What is innovative about the project, what are the technologies used in the project and why they are chosen must be clearly explained.
- The project should prove that it will have lasting positive impact on the community.
- The project should have a realistic, well-planned and accurate budget. Do not include the cost for building construction or re-construction, and the costs incurred before the grant application.
- Application must be written in English and submitted through online submission system using the application form.
To apply for the project grant, first download the application form from EIFL Grant Announcement page, complete the application form, sign the application and attach a scanned copy of the signed application along with the application form and finally apply through online submission process.
