The Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre) is accepting fellowship applications from individuals in developing countries (except India) for the fellowship scheme titled Research Training Fellowship for Developing Country Scientists (RTF-DCS). The fellowship scheme is intended to provide opportunity to young researchers for their capacity building in science and technology through their affiliation with premier academic and research institutions in India to carry out short-term research work.
The RTF-DCS aims to – promote mobility of scientists and researchers from the developing countries into India and provide them opportunity to work at Indian R&D/academic institutions to upgrade their research skills and expertise; and to facilitate exchange of information and contacts between the scientists and researchers of India and other developing countries and create a network for building research collaborations.

The fellowship covers – round trip international airfare; monthly INR35,000 for accommodation, meals and other expenses; and one-time grant of INR15,000 for domestic travel.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant should possess at least a Master’s Degree in any Natural Science subject or an equivalent degree in Engineering or Medicine and allied disciplines.
- Applicant should be working in a national Research & Development or academic institution in her/his home country. The application should be endorsed by the Head of her/his institution confirming that if selected, s/he will be sanctioned leave for the Fellowship period and will join her/his duties back in the institution on completion of the Fellowship in India.
- The applicant can be maximum 40 years of age by the deadline.
- Applicants are advised to make prior contact with an Indian host institution that would accept the candidate to work in the institution if s/he is selected for the proposed research project.
