Many development practitioners, who seek to build a career at the United Nations, are quite aware that the competition to apply for a UN job is not only fierce but the entire selection process is so tough that many drop out at the very initial stages of recruitment. Candidates are required to hold advanced degrees with considerable work experience both within and outside the UN system to apply for a proper UN posting. Additionally, there are various levels of exams and interviews that you may need to clear before reaching a desirable position.

In the same context, UNESCO is currently accepting applications for the Young Professionals Programme. In this article, you will learn more about this programme, how to apply and some useful tips.
