The World Health Organisation (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Network System Specialist, based in the Brazzaville, Congo.
WHO plays a primary role of directing and coordinating international health within the United Nation’s system.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Network System Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Plan design, install and maintain Network services throughout the WHO/AFRO region;
- Set up and maintain security of the ICT infrastructure and environment (hacker and virus protection, protection against power failure and fire protection of the datacenter, etc.);
- Develop and maintain documentation on security & network services policies, operations and procedures;
- Plan install and maintain datacenter environment including servers farm, SAN and system administration;
- Manage the IT System administration and security team.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have-
- First University degree in computer science or related field or equivalent professional training or self-study/work experience. Specialization in ICT security methods and engineering would be an advantage;
- PRINCE2, ITIL, COBIT, Microsoft, Qualys, Checkpoint, CISCO Certification will be an asset;
- At least two years’ experience at national and/or international level in management of computer hardware, software, network management (installation, trouble shooting and administration);
- Experience in project management with solid knowledge of technology trends for effective user and IT network environments support;
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
- Other skills-
- Knowledge and experience in LAN/WAN architecture, configuration and administration;
- Experience in implementation of network security projects and practical knowledge of;
- Encryption systems and methodologies, authentication & identification management, digital certificate and PKI, vulnerability assessment tools, intrusion detection & prevention systems, malicious codes (virus; worms; Trojan Horses);
- Strong Networking Concepts with regards to managing Network Security;
- Knowledge of Attack Methods and Defenses, such as Denial of Service, etc.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills, be intuitive with a high sense of responsibility towards achieving results in a timely manner;
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
