The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Program Specialist, based in the Dakar, Senegal.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Program Specialist Environment will perform the following functions-
- Participate in the design of tender documents (CAD) ensuring the integration of environmental and social aspects;
- Oversee the development of TDR related to environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) in relation to firms approved and the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development;
- Follow the development and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP);
- Participate in the collection, inputting and processing of data related to monitoring and evaluation tools;
- Liaise with the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development for the monitoring and validation of studies;
- Contribute to information campaigns, education and awareness of those affected by the implementation of the work;
- Participate in the development of the work program and the draft annual budgets;
- Participate in the preparation of periodic reports of progress reports of physical performance, quarterly reports, annual and other reports required under the terms and conditions of the Project Agreement;
- Prepare regular reports Activity Tracking for Direct Supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree (Master) in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering / Hydraulic Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a related field;
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in the design of environmental impact assessments and / or monitoring of environmental and social management plans for infrastructure projects;
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and under pressure;
- Have a great capacity for organization and synthesis;
- Have a great capacity for teamwork;
- Having interinstitutional partnership work capacity;
- Excellent command of the French language;
- A good knowledge of written and spoken English would be an advantage.
