Deadline: Different for different course
The Hague Academy for Local Governance has issued its notification for the 2016 short courses to be conducted in Netherlands. The Academy offers training programmes that focus on real life situations and challenges that the participants recognise from their daily work. They meet colleagues from abroad, learn from experiences in other countries and relate what has been learned to the practice in their home countries. It believes that real development starts at a local level. Our programmes support people who work on strengthening service delivery, local economic development and security and rule of law.
Hague Academy is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that aims at strengthening good (local) governance, public service delivery and socio-economic development in developing and transitional countries by organising practice oriented training programmes. In addition to that, the Academy supports young, talented civil servants in developing and transitional countries by scholarships and an online network for young civil servants around the world.
Elected representatives, civil servants and staff of NGOs and development organisations are all welcome to participate.
Eligible Participants
The Academy develops training programmes for:
- mayors and deputy mayors, members of the municipal executive, council members;
- managers and staff members of municipalities, national governments and public service organisations;
- active citizens and NGOs cooperating with local governments;
- policy makers, project managers and consultants at donor, development and consultancy organisations.
