Applications are accepted for workshop on data-driven journalism organized by DW Akademie. The workshop will be conducted in Phnom Penh on Jan. 20-31, 2014. The course is being supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of Germany´s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Participants will have an opportunity to–
- get a practical introduction to data-driven journalism
- learn how to use social media, publicly available data sources and digital data journalism tools professionally
- find, filter and visualize data relevant to their reporting
- employ data-journalism instruments to increase the impact of their journalistic or human rights work
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Be a citizen of Cambodia
- Work as a journalist, citizen journalist, IT- or social media specialist with 2 – 10 years of professional experience or be a journalism student or trainer
- Show strong interest in data-driven journalism
- Bring a lap-top or tablet computer
- Have excellent knowledge of English. The workshop will be held in English
