Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking applications for Making Television News Training course. This course will be conducted in Marrakech, Morocco from Nov 11, 2013 to Nov 15, 2013. The goal of this program is to focuses on bright ideas, opportunities and challenges for the international news industry. NewsXchange brings together 500 executives, journalists, presenters, bloggers and start-up entrepreneurs from all around the world to share, learn and cross-pollinate ideas with an array of fellow journalists, experts, scientists, artists and international thought leaders.
Submissions required-
- A biography of up to 250 words outlining their career.
- A statement of between 250-500 words describing any experiences have had in presenting television/radio programmes, reporting, script writing, producing/video-editing. Explain how applicants hope to benefit from the course for which they are applying.
- Two recent examples of their published work, preferably relevant to the course for which they are applying, with a brief summary in English (if necessary). TV/Radio journalists can send in their scripts and a brief summary.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Applicants must be broadcast journalists from the Magreb countries and currently working as a journalist or regular contributor to broadcast media organisations. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to a career in journalism in their country, must have at least two years’ professional experience. If they have been on a Thomson Reuters Foundation training programme within the last two years you will not be eligible to apply.
