The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) are an unique opportunity for individuals and NGOs to build their capacities by attending training programmes organized by world-class institutes and universities in the Netherlands.
These programmes provide full and partial funding support to attend short-term and long-term training courses. They are specially designed to promote NGOs in around 50 countries representing the developing world.
The Wageningen UR (University & Research centre) in the Netherlands is organizing a set of training programmes in 2014. These programmes cover a wide range of topics from agriculture, livelihood development, media, civil society, rural entrepreneurship, climate change and the environment.
Although these trainings programmes are paid courses, Wageningen UR in partnership with the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes is offering fellowship support to selected participants from over 50 countries around the world.
In order to apply for the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) to attend these training courses, you need to submit a request to Wageningen UR before 1 October 2013.
The 2014 trainings programmes of the Wageningen UR are as follows:
- Training on ‘Agriculture in transition’
- Training on ‘Governance & food safety in international food chains’
- Training on ‘Integrated pest management and food safety’
- Training on ‘Managing risk and hazards in the face of natural disaster’
- Training on ‘Media design for social change’
- Training on ‘Monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of food and nutrition security programmes’
- Training on ‘Netherlands Fellowship for Training on ‘Contemporary approaches to genetic resources conservation and use’
- Training on ‘Competing claims on natural resources’
- Training on ‘Seed potato technology, certification and supply systems’
- Training on ‘Rural entrepreneurship’
- Training on ‘Participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation’
- Training on ‘Integrated seed sector development’
- Training on ‘International training of trainers on IWRM’
