Applications are invited for Workshop on covering immigration reform organized by Borderzine, Reporting Across Fronteras. This training will be conducted in University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) from Sept. 26-29, 2013. The mission of this program is to acquire the reporting tools and a substantive understanding of immigration policy and research to write compelling, nuanced and well-researched stories about the human face of immigration in their communities.

- Brief bio
- Three samples of work.
- Three immigration story ideas.
- Letter of recommendation and commitment from the nominating editor/supervisor to publish and provide time to the journalist to attend the Institute and develop the proposed stories after the workshop.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Applications for the workshop will be accepted from professional and independent journalists working for all media platforms in English or Spanish. The Robert R. McCormick Foundation grant provides funding for all training sessions, lodging and meals, and travel to and from El Paso, Texas for the Institute.
