The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Centre for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE) in Slovenia jointly invite current and future policymakers and other stakeholders to apply for short term training course entitled Sustainable Energy Solutions – Increasing Energy Efficiency in Industrial Production. The training program will be held from 9-17 September 2014 in ICPE, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development aims at the creation of learning opportunities for policy makers, industrial development practitioners, researchers and people working in the industrial development community. The thematic areas of UNIDO are- Training and Education activities, Joint Research activities, Knowledge Sharing activities, Policy Dialogue support activities, and Strategic Networking and Partnership.
Total 25 individuals will be selected to participate in the training course. The course will address some of the key issues pertaining to sustainable energy. The participants will gain in-depth understanding of energy policy, technology and financing as planning tools for developing sustainable energy systems. They will get an opportunity to reflect on practical, innovative and cost effective ways to address sustainability problems within the energy industry and systems.
Accommodation, food and travel will be offered for all participants in the course.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be the national of any country and based in any country around the globe.
- Current and future policymakers from emerging and developing countries engaged in the design and implementation of energy policies, and other stakeholders from nongovernmental organizations, academia or the private sector dealing with such issues are eligible to participate in the training program.
- Participants from previous UNIDO Institute trainings are not eligible for application to this course.
- Applicants must be proficient in English language.
