Applications are accepted for grants under the ‘Travel to learn arts and crafts’ programme offered by UNESCO and the Foundation Culture & Diversite. The goal of this program is to enable arts and crafts students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds to complete a study tour abroad. It allows students from developing countries to discover the know-how of French craftspeople.
The focus of this project is to inspire creativity, foster cultural exchange, encourage a diversification in training and develop entrepreneurship ideas for young students committed to the field of arts and crafts.
Benefits-
- The programme will cover the airfare by providing the student an round-trip plane ticket.
- The programme provides the students with funding (from 1034 euros to 1200 euros per month during the 4 months and according to the city of the study tour). This allowance covers living expenses in France for four months (accommodation and food allowance), and also travels and materials for work related projects.
- A training agreement will be signed between the student, the school and the hosting structure.
- A scholarship agreement will be signed between the student and the Fondation Culture & Diversite.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- UNESCO, through the field offices and/or the National Commissions for UNESCO, advertises for the programme in schools/organization/universities of applied arts and crafts in developing countries.
- Applicants-
- must complete the application form : they must apply for one of the study tours suggested by the programme, discuss their overall motivation and interest for the programme and the techniques they will acquire, and show their interest in the French culture
- must join pictures of their work
- must join a video presentation : length 4 to 6 minutes/content: presentation of themselves, of their motivation, of what they want to learn/discover thanks to the programme, and of their future professional project
