Proposals are accepted for Study Tour on civic activism, volunteerism and participation. This program is supported by Counterpart International funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under Associate Cooperative Agreement. The purpose of this program is to to increase informed and organized civic activism at the local and national levels, accompanied by more participatory, decentralized, efficient and accountable local governance, which leads to a more democratic society built on the foundation of improved quality of life through a participatory community development process.
Objectives of the Study Tour-
- Strengthening participants’ knowledge and skills to address existing and upcoming challenges faced by the community by involving in decision making process on local and national levels;
- Exploring various institutional aspects and arrangements for community involvement in urban and rural areas, including strategic planning for development with involvement of community organizations, non-formal groups, and budget hearings with involvement of community representatives, citizen reporting and transparency.
- Introducing best practices of citizen participation in decision making on local level;
- Exchanging information, knowledge, experience and lessons learns on community driven development between community development practitioners of Armenia and host country.
Eligibility-
Proposals are accepted from Armenian applicants.
