Applications are invited for Ralph A. Gallagher Travel Grants offered by Association for the Sociology of Religion (ASR) to attend and present a paper at the annual meeting.
At the time of application, applicants must be members of the Association for the Sociology of Religion who will commit themselves to attend and present a paper at the meeting should the Travel Grant be approved. Grant recipients are expected to spend a minimum of 2 nights in the meeting hotel and to participate in the entirety of the meeting.
How to apply?
- There is no application form, but the prospective grantee should communicate his/her desire to be considered for an award to the Program Chair and the Executive Officer at the time s/he submits a paper abstract for the meeting. In the communication, s/he should indicate the reason for his/her need and show that s/he has a way of obtaining the additional funds necessary to make the trip.
- Students from the U.S./Canada receive $500 or less, while scholars from outside of North America receive $500 or more. The $500 figure may be exceeded in cases where the prospective grantee is traveling from a lesser developed country.
- All applications must be submitted electronically.
