The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State is inviting applicants for WARC Travel Grant program to promote intra-African cooperation and exchange among researchers and institutions by providing support to African scholars and graduate students for research visits to other institutions on the continent.
The West African Research Center (WARC) is WARA’s overseas headquarters and provides point of contact for researchers from throughout West Africa and their colleagues from the US and elsewhere. It provides scholars with a rich array of resources and supportive services.
WARA’s mission is to promote research and scholarly exchange between West African and US scholars and institutions. WARA supports the production and dissemination of knowledge on West Africa and the diaspora through its research fellowships, conferences, and publications.
Funding Information
The WARC Travel Grant provides travel costs up to $1,500 and a stipend of $1,500.
Eligibility Criteria
This competition is open only to West African nationals, with preference given to those affiliated with West African colleges, universities, or research institutions.
