The budget part in the proposal format of the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) application system is easy to comprehend. However, you need to submit the budget in two forms: one by activity and one by input.
UNDEF tolerates salary and support costs, buth these need to be very modest and justified to the project. Don’t unnecessarily increase these costs, otherwise your entire proposal (and effort) will be rejected.
In left-hand side of the page, under activity description, you can list down the activities and its corresponding cost in US dollars. This means that all salaries and support costs for each activity have to be calculated and mentioned here.
In the right-hand side, you have repeat the same budgetary work but in a different form. Now you need to break up your costs by input.
Make sure that you first calculate your budgetary expenses on a rough page and then start filling these spaces.
Remember, you can request a minimum of $50,000 and preferably a maximum of $250,000 for a period of two years.
