The “Project Summary” in the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) application form seeks to get a brief summary of the project in no more than two short paragraphs (less than 1000 characters). You can explain briefly about the overview of the existing situation and the project objectives and activities or results under this question.

“As the country moves towards framing of a permanent constitution, the need to involve the people in building the pillar of democracy is critical. The twenty-first century democracy emphasizes on people’s participation in policy development. What better policy than the constitution of the country itself and what better participation than giving consultation to its very framing. However, challenges remain when a majority of the community from under-represented and marginalized groups is unaware about various political institutions.
In this context, the organization proposes to lead a project to enhance the role of the marginalized communities in the constitutional-making processes of the country by increasing their awareness on gender issues and human rights, educate them on the constitutional-making processes and advocate for a model constitution based upon human rights and gender-based perspective.”
After mentioning the “Requested Grant Amount,” you can mention your own contribution either in cash or kind. You need to give a short explanation about this contribution like whether it will be sourced from other donors or not or you will be contributing full/partial staff salaries or the infrastructure of the organization for the project.
Select the “Main feature of the project” and also explain whether gender has been integrated directly or indirectly in it. If a project is about educated poor women about human rights, then this is directly addressing gender inequality. If a project is about improving access to information, the clearly outline how women and men are benefiting equally in such a project.
