Call for Applications: Liberia Media Development Activity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Liberia is calling applications for Liberia Media Development activity.

Federal Award Information

Type and Expected Number of Awards: The anticipated type of assistance instrument to be awarded under this RFA is a cooperative agreement which may be awarded to one (1) recipient.
Total Estimated Amount of the Program: The Total Estimated Amount of funding for this award is $11,000,000.
Substantial Involvement: USAID/Liberia considers collaboration with the Recipient crucial for the successful implementation of this program.

The primary goal of the program is to increase all Liberian citizens’ access to independent and reliable information and empowerment to engage in well-informed public discussion of important issues of the day. It is expected that program support will focus with both commercial media outlets and Community Radio Stations (CRS). Specifically, according to the objectives, the award will lead to:

Increased sustainability of media houses (both commercial and community radio stations);
A plurality of voices represented in Liberian media;
Improved quality of media, including wider adherence to professional standards of journalism;
Strengthened normative-legal enabling environment for freer media; and,
Strengthened Information Commission to be able to respond rapidly to requests from citizens and media establishments.

In order to be eligible to submit an application under this RFA, Applicant’s must be registered in the System for
Award Management (SAM) on sam.gov and have no active exclusions from Federal awards.
Each Applicant/organization is limited to submitting no more than one (1) application.
The Applicant must also provide a valid Dun and Bradstreet Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number in its application.
