United States Agency for International Development (USAID) offers funding opportunity for Healthcare Management and Administration (HMA) Education Twinning in Mozambique and contribute to an improved capacity to manage, plan, and administer the health service delivery system. The local counterpart institution for this program will be the Instituto Superior de Ciências de Saúde (ISCISA).
The long-term goal of this project is to increase the quality of governance and management in the health sector in Mozambique by establishing a twinning relationship between a local partner (ISCISA) and a foreign institution offering a higher degree in hospital administration or healthcare management.
USAID aims to promote institutionalization of a gender perspective that identifies and addresses the differential impact of development on women and men.
For the majority of activities that may be funded by this Grant, a Categorical Exclusion has been recommended, including-
- Activities involving education, training, technical assistance or training programs
- Activities involving analyses, studies, workshops and meetings
- Programs involving nutrition, health care, or family planning services, except to the extent that the activities directly affect the
- environmental, such as water supply systems
- Studies, projects or programs intended to develop the capability of recipient countries and organizations to engage in development planning
Subject to the availability of funds, USAID intends to provide up to $2,000,000 to be allocated over a three-year period.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Qualified applicants may be U.S. or non-U.S. public or private colleges, universities, higher education institutes, or other postsecondary institution offering coursework relevant to healthcare and hospital management and administration. In support of the Agency’s interest in fostering a larger assistance base and expanding the number and sustainability of development partners, USAID encourages applications from potential new partners.
