The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is calling public organisations/associations/institutes whether in US or abroad to submit a Request for Information (RFI) for the purpose of developing and launching a new public-private partnership that focuses on connecting actionable climate science, data, tools, and training to decision-makers in developing countries.
The announcement for this partnership has been made by President Obama at the UN Climate Summit in New York City. The partnership will build on existing efforts, including those of partner country organizations and other donors, to enhance capacity within developing countries to assess impacts and vulnerabilities associated with climate change, boost resilience, and achieve country-led development goals in the context of a changing climate.
Eligibility Criteria
All segments of the public (in the U.S. and abroad), industry, academia, and government, including associations, innovators, and enthusiasts are eligible to reply to the RFI.
Instructions for Submitting Responses
- All RFI responses shall be submitted via email with the subject title “Partnership on Climate Data and Information on Resilient Development.”
- Responses may be submitted within the body of the email or as an attachment. Responses should not exceed one page typed, 12-point font, single spaced with one inch margins.
- Responses must include the following information:
- Organization name and address;
- Organization point of contact name, telephone number, and email address;
- Sector, e.g. public, private, academic, NGO, philanthropy;
- Field of work, e.g. climatology, agriculture, data and information management, GIS, finance;
- Presence, e.g. countries and/or regions that your organization is currently working in;
- List of existing climate information networks or communities of practice that your organization is a member of.
Note: Do not submit proposals or resumes as they will be discarded.
